Panic. Physics exam in less than an hour. On a frickin Saturday morning! And on top of that, SFU decides to lock the majority of the foots leading onto the school. WTF. Wish me luck. I’ll need it.

Can we first talk about how much I MISS my child hood. I mean how kick ass was this song?! Even better, how amazing was YTV’s Hit List? It was the coolest and only place to get the killer beats at the time. That’s right; I said killer beats. Can I go back a few years when I didn’t have to stress about upcoming Physics, Calculus, Linguistics and Biology exam. Pretty pretty please. In the meantime, check out this amazing song!! = )

So I’ve just finished watching the season finale of So You Think You Can Dance. First of all, WOW! There will be some mild spoilers in this so you have been warned. I have to say that I LOVE all the dancers in this seasons top four and would have been very happy to see any and all of them win. That being said, congrats to the winner. The show itself was amazing. The different dances and acts and surprises that they had for us this season were the best that I have seen too date. I love it.

Just a quick little note. My physics prof, Marco Bieri, just sent meona wild goose chase lol. He told me that I should come to his office, p9526, to make up by missed labs. Turns out no such room exsists. He was trying to type p9426. Simple typo? Or does he want me to fail? Maybe he takes perverse pleasure in knowing that I spent ten minutes aimlessly wandering around the physics department searching for this nonexsistent room.

So I’m on my way to finish up my mass amounts of missed physics labs. I have to say, I’m not excited. I love physics, I really do. It’s fun and interesting to see everyday instances understood and explained through scientific means. I just hate mindless and ridiculously easy lansbthat require me to so stupid labs that don’t help me further understand physics at all! Me sigh. Sucks to me me. Looks like I’m gonna have to suck it up and just push carts at each other while measuring velocity. Woohoo. In the mean time, the bus/skytrain ride is spent listening to Mugglecast! Yay Harry Potter!!

So this is the monitor that was used to today’s live stream of Tekzilla. It’s an object of beauty is it not? It’s the t220 from Samsung and I’ve been browsing around trying to get a price range. The cheapest I’ve come across is $300.00 from Best Buy. Oh it’s so expensive, but it’s so purdy. Who wants to buy it for me? Or better yet, can anyone show me something prettier?

So this is going to be a long and very confusing post but please, bear with me.

FOOD

Monday – We’re planning on eating breakfast before we leave. Don’t expect any when we get there. For anyone sleeping over at Amanda’s the night before, we’ll do breakfast together. Please bring snacks for the car ride up. It’s fairly long and if you’re anything like me, you’ll get a little snackish. For dinner we’re doing some good ol’ spagetti and garlic bread with smores for dessert! [mmm, smores. Especially with a little bit of nutella in 'em!]

Tuesday – For breakfast we’ll be doing pancakes [maybes some fruit?]. Pretty basic. Pretty simple. Lunch will be sandwichs/wraps. We’ll have a variety of meats to chose from [salami, ham, chicken, ect.]. We’ll also throw some fruit into the mix. Everyone likes fruits. For dinner, WEENIE ROAST! Woohoo. It’ll be hot dogs, veggie dogs and ceaser salad. Depending on the foor budget, we might actually do some veggie/meat hamburgers too.

Wednesday – This is the day we leave so we’ll do breakfast at the campsite. Cereal seems like it would be a pretty standard and easy breakfast meal. Before packing up will get together some sandwichs and whatnot to take down to the beach with us.
For all days, we’ll have a variety of bevrages. Juices, pop, milk etc. However, I am going to stress. BYOB. If you want booze, fine. Buy it and bring it. We’re not going to be buying a mass amount and bringing it with us. BYOB =)

PRICING

We’ve managed to work out a few various pricing options depending on the amount of people and cars coming up with us. I’ll spare you that math [if you want to know, e-mail me and I'll type out the specs] but for 10 people with 2 cars +$30.00 for grocerys it comes out to $42.12 per person. For 10 people with 4 cars + $30.00 for grocerys it comes out to $44.52 per person. For 13 people with 4 cars + $30.00 for grocerys it comes out to $44.80 per person. SO basically it’s within the 42-45 dollar range. Not bad considering there are so many of us and we’re paying for the camp site and the food. We’re also asking that you pitch in 10-15 bucks to the driver to cover the cost of gas. Gas is expensive, and the people driving are being very nice in offering to drive.

ACTIVITES

We’re planning on doing some fun stuff while we’re up there. Options include waterslides, go karting, mini golf, jet skiing, hiking, etc. These [mostly] cost money, so we have to keep that in mind. A loose schedule goes like this. . .

Monday – set up camp. Maybe play some late night man hunt?

Tuesday – waterslides?minigolf?go-karting? either one, all, or two of these ideas. If we do go to Cultus Water Slides, I would suggest going a little later [twilight] because it’s cheaper. Who doesn’t like cheaper?!

Wednesday – pack up & chill at the beach.

UTILITIES

We covered most of this at a little ‘meeting’ we had and have realized that we have most of the stuff needed to actually go camping. Some stuff we ask people to bring if you have it are flashlights, a first aid kit, boogey boards, a Frisbee, boche? firewood and roast sticks. Thanks.

PLEASE BRING THE FOLLOWING

So some people haven’t been camping before and we didn’t want them to forget anything. That’s why there’s this list of pretty much anything and everything you should bring with you.

  • clothes [nice and scruffy. Don't bring your best stuff. It's a campsite. You'll get dirty]
  • runners + socks / flip flops
  • underwear + bra [pria . . . ]
  • tampons [fyi, this does not apply to guys]
  • bathing suits
  • 2-3 towels
  • blanket + pillow
  • fold out chairs
  • sleeping bag
  • air/foam mattress
  • playing cards! o o o someone bring spoons and we’ll play Spoons!
  • basic toiletries [toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, soap]
  • warm pj’s

I think about sums up the camping trip. If you have any questions, e-mail Amanda or me.

So I’m wondering, is it? I supposed it it a good point. What if the poor tree is just standing there, minding their own business and some tree hugger just comes up and starts groping it? Don’t get me wrong. I am all for saving the environment. I have a very strong and firm view about the problems of Global Warming. That’s why I have chosen to major in Earth Science, so I can help solve the problem of our deteriorating environment. You have to admit though, that’s a damn funny picture!

I have come to the realization that blogging may be a very good thing for me. I don’t care so much if others read or not, but it’s definitely a plus. A place for me to get my frustrations out. Let’s start shall we? I’m Jessica. A 18 year old closet nerd who’s going to fail this entire summer semester of classes because I cannot for the life of me get my goddamn act together and actually study. I don’t know why, but I just cannot get motivation. Yes I understand that math and physics are not the most interesting of subjects but they are subjects that I [for some reason] need to fully understand in order to get into my Earth Science program. I want to study volcanoes, honest to god I do. So why can I not focus. Simply because there are too many distractions. What would you rather do, stare at pages upon pages of numbers and formulas until your brain turns to mush, or watch Mulan with your best friend! I’m sure the answer is quite clear.

Now, I know that with anything Apple, especially their iPods, whatever GB they sell you on the package is not always what you get. When I bought my first 4GB iPod Mini, it was actually ~3.75GB. I was upset, but shrugged it off because it was only .25GB I was missing out on. That was a while ago. I’m older now. I have an 8G iPod Touch. I love it; I love it alot. I am in the process of downloading the new 2.01 software to update it in order to hopefully fix some of the problems that came with the software update 2.0 and I noticed something. On my iPods page, Capacity; 7.08G. SEVEN POINT O EIGHT?! Are you effing serious Apple? That’s almost a whole god damn GB of storage that you’ve so sneakily stolen for me. I’m not sure if I’m going to send an angry letter to Apple, or if I’m just going to keep my ranting to my blog. Am I blowing this out of proportion?
