Oh Indy, you can raid my ark anytime… <3

So I’ve just come out of a meeting with an independant lawyer who is following up on an accident that I was witness too ages ago. March 7th to be exact. It was a pretty boring meeting. He asked questions, I answered then, and he regurgatated it in his chicken scratch writing on a pad of legal paper. What I’m mostly writing this blog post for is my sheer amazement at how freaking long it took for them to contact me. March was a long time ago. It’s August now and a lot of time has passed. The memories are a tad foggy. I can’t remember exactly what he said when he thwacked himself into the bus pole. You’d think they would want to collect my statement at an earlier time, when the details were more clear and more accurate. Not months later, at the end of summer, when the majority of the witnesses are on a different continent for their summer vacation. All I know is that I’m done my part and I’m glad I don’t have to dot around thinking ‘when the eff are they gonna call me, in gonna forget everything!’

So this is going to be a long and very confusing post but please, bear with me.

FOOD

Monday – We’re planning on eating breakfast before we leave. Don’t expect any when we get there. For anyone sleeping over at Amanda’s the night before, we’ll do breakfast together. Please bring snacks for the car ride up. It’s fairly long and if you’re anything like me, you’ll get a little snackish. For dinner we’re doing some good ol’ spagetti and garlic bread with smores for dessert! [mmm, smores. Especially with a little bit of nutella in 'em!]

Tuesday – For breakfast we’ll be doing pancakes [maybes some fruit?]. Pretty basic. Pretty simple. Lunch will be sandwichs/wraps. We’ll have a variety of meats to chose from [salami, ham, chicken, ect.]. We’ll also throw some fruit into the mix. Everyone likes fruits. For dinner, WEENIE ROAST! Woohoo. It’ll be hot dogs, veggie dogs and ceaser salad. Depending on the foor budget, we might actually do some veggie/meat hamburgers too.

Wednesday – This is the day we leave so we’ll do breakfast at the campsite. Cereal seems like it would be a pretty standard and easy breakfast meal. Before packing up will get together some sandwichs and whatnot to take down to the beach with us.
For all days, we’ll have a variety of bevrages. Juices, pop, milk etc. However, I am going to stress. BYOB. If you want booze, fine. Buy it and bring it. We’re not going to be buying a mass amount and bringing it with us. BYOB =)

PRICING

We’ve managed to work out a few various pricing options depending on the amount of people and cars coming up with us. I’ll spare you that math [if you want to know, e-mail me and I'll type out the specs] but for 10 people with 2 cars +$30.00 for grocerys it comes out to $42.12 per person. For 10 people with 4 cars + $30.00 for grocerys it comes out to $44.52 per person. For 13 people with 4 cars + $30.00 for grocerys it comes out to $44.80 per person. SO basically it’s within the 42-45 dollar range. Not bad considering there are so many of us and we’re paying for the camp site and the food. We’re also asking that you pitch in 10-15 bucks to the driver to cover the cost of gas. Gas is expensive, and the people driving are being very nice in offering to drive.

ACTIVITES

We’re planning on doing some fun stuff while we’re up there. Options include waterslides, go karting, mini golf, jet skiing, hiking, etc. These [mostly] cost money, so we have to keep that in mind. A loose schedule goes like this. . .

Monday – set up camp. Maybe play some late night man hunt?

Tuesday – waterslides?minigolf?go-karting? either one, all, or two of these ideas. If we do go to Cultus Water Slides, I would suggest going a little later [twilight] because it’s cheaper. Who doesn’t like cheaper?!

Wednesday – pack up & chill at the beach.

UTILITIES

We covered most of this at a little ‘meeting’ we had and have realized that we have most of the stuff needed to actually go camping. Some stuff we ask people to bring if you have it are flashlights, a first aid kit, boogey boards, a Frisbee, boche? firewood and roast sticks. Thanks.

PLEASE BRING THE FOLLOWING

So some people haven’t been camping before and we didn’t want them to forget anything. That’s why there’s this list of pretty much anything and everything you should bring with you.

  • clothes [nice and scruffy. Don't bring your best stuff. It's a campsite. You'll get dirty]
  • runners + socks / flip flops
  • underwear + bra [pria . . . ]
  • tampons [fyi, this does not apply to guys]
  • bathing suits
  • 2-3 towels
  • blanket + pillow
  • fold out chairs
  • sleeping bag
  • air/foam mattress
  • playing cards! o o o someone bring spoons and we’ll play Spoons!
  • basic toiletries [toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, soap]
  • warm pj’s

I think about sums up the camping trip. If you have any questions, e-mail Amanda or me.
